crawley-and-the-lady:

I may or may not be writing a one-shot about Matthew presenting Mary with an engagement ring - because obviously he didn’t give it to her on the night of the proposal - i’m having a wonderfull time thinking of all the creative ways Matthew might have chosen…

Can’t wait! I too have spent many an hour thinking about this and it often features that little doggy lucky charm. We need all the fic we can get of their engagement because it’s going to be like Greek drama, all happening offstage. They were engaged in January and hughbon has said S3 starts in Spring and it sounds like the wedding features in the first episode….so there will be no such scenes and no pre-wedding heated clinches in darkened hallways.

A Little help? And revisiting an old topic re: spoiler?

however-whatever-whenever:

1. Is Ethel returning in Series 3?

2. I’ve been looking over the description of Jessica Fellowes next book and how the description changed on a couple of websites. I posted it before but I’m thinking about it again so let’s revisit.

One paragraph of the description has been tweaked since the book was first announced. Were there too many spoilers in the original?

One website used to say:

…every important member of the Downton estate.

Different family members abound and changed dynamics need to be resolved: which branch of the family tree will Lord Grantham’s first grandchild belong to? Who will replace the gap in his life left by Sybil? *How much does the parentage of an illegitimate baby still matter? Who will succeed Bates in his role as valet? Where shall O’Brien place her allegiances now? Will the scullery maid Daisy have the boldest journey and prize to claim of them all?

This lavish book focuses on each character…

Pretty spoilery huh?

This same website now says:

…every important member of the Downton estate.

As they face new challenges, the Crawley family and the servants who work for them remain inseparably interlinked. Throughout the great house new arrivals rattle the established hierarchies, and the lives of the inhabitants are as shaped by romance, ambition, desire, shocks and heartbreak as ever.
